VISION SAFETY WASTE CAPS
How to choose a Waste Safety Cap?
Waste Safety Caps collect the waste solvents from (U)HPLC systems. Several manufacturers use a different number of capillaries to withdraw waste solvents, with 1.6mm-10mm outer diameter. To choose the most appropriate Safety Cap for the HPLC system, we have to consider how many waste lines are coming out from the HPLC system. We offer different through-fittings for smaller O.D. PTFE/FEP tubings; for larger O.D. silicone/corrugated tubings barbed fittings can be used. In general, the Waste Safety Cap should have as many ports as the system has capillaries, plus one port for the Exhaust Filter (sorbent) - nevertheless, we also offer different couplers if the system has more waste lines than the safety cap has. All unused ports on the Waste Safety Cap must be closed by a blind plug. All Vision Waste Safety Cap capillary ports are uniform, so you can easily use the proper fitting for all type of tubings.
Waste solvent collection can take place in any closed container, so the dimensions of the Waste Safety Cap can be various as well. To identify the cap's proper size, you need to measure several parameters (see page xx.), such as the male container's thread outer diameter, pitch, thread profile, etc. We offer several cap types from GL40 to 83B, as well as several thread adapters. To make sure you choose the right cap, we recommend buying a suitable canister for the preferred cap. We also offer a free sample pack with different cap sizes so that you can identify the right safety cap type (part number: xxx).
